Extract from
Decree
of the Ministry of Infrastructure
dated 23rd January 2003

On the basis of art 36.7 Act on maritime safety dated 9th November 2000 (Official Journal of Law dated 13th December 2000) the following is ordered:

§ 16. In order to ensure proper rendering of services of maritime pilotage, the director of the appropriate maritime office:

1. determines minimum number of pilots entitled to render pilotage services in the pilotage area, where pilotage is compulsory,

2. on the basis of other provisions, leads the list of maritime pilots and open sea pilots,

3. creates the pilot station and announces by way of Communicate its seat and company, that provides and manages the pilot station in the name of the companies rendering pilotage services,

4. by way of Communicate announces the pilotage areas and the territorial competence of the pilot station,

5. upon application of a social-professional organization of pilots appoints and dismisses the chief pilot,

6. adopts regulations for the pilot station that determine:

a. organization of work of the station

b. scope of obligations of the chief pilot
